Three siblings died after being electrocuted inside their apartment in Barangay Pinyahan, Quezon City, on Friday night, July 10.

Citing a delayed police report, authorities said one of the victims was retrieving clothes from the balcony amid heavy rain and strong winds when the victim came into contact with an energized metal object.

Police Lt. Col. Aljun Belista, commander of the Kamuning Police Station, said witnesses told investigators that the victim cried out in pain, prompting a second sibling to rush to the rescue.

The second sibling was also electrocuted.

The eldest sibling then attempted to help the two but likewise suffered a fatal electric shock.

A fourth sibling tried to intervene but stopped after experiencing a mild electric shock, then called the neighbors for assistance.

The three victims were taken to a nearby hospital, where they were declared dead.

Authorities are investigating the source of the electrical current and the circumstances surrounding the incident.
