Globe Telecom is doubling down on customer experience, digital innovation, and network expansion to meet the growing demand for mobile connectivity.
“Our priority is to execute on our plans well. We will deliver a better customer experience through our digital platforms and serve relevant products through hyperpersonalization. While we continue to expand our 5G network, we intend to deepen our fiber footprint and differentiate more using digital technologies,” Darius Delgado, Globe’s chief Commercial Officer, said.
The company expanded its 5G network during the first quarter by deploying 408 new 5G sites, bringing outdoor 5G population coverage to more than 98% in Metro Manila and key cities across the Visayas and Mindanao.
Globe said these investments are aimed at supporting changing consumer behavior, as mobile data continues to dominate how customers use telecommunications services.
Data now accounts for 89 percent of Globe’s total mobile service revenues, up from 85 percent during the same period last year, reflecting the shift away from traditional voice calls and text messaging toward digital applications.
For the first quarter of 2026, Globe’s mobile business generated P30 billion in revenues, representing a 6 percent year-on-year increase, while its mobile subscriber base grew to approximately 67 million.
The company attributed the growth to increasing use of video streaming, social media, online gaming, digital payments, and other internet-based services.
Mobile data revenues climbed 11 percent year on year, while overall mobile data traffic increased 18 percent. Average monthly data usage also reached approximately 16 gigabytes per subscriber, highlighting the continued rise in digital consumption.
More than 39 million Globe customers now actively use mobile data services, reinforcing the role of connectivity in everyday activities.
Meanwhile, Globe’s digital ecosystem also continued to expand, with its GlobeOne app reaching an average of 8 million monthly active users, as more customers manage their accounts and access services through digital platforms.
The company said it remains focused on strengthening both its wireless and fixed broadband infrastructure to meet rising customer demand while delivering more personalized digital experiences.
As digital adoption accelerates across the country, Globe said its investments in 5G, fiber connectivity, and digital technologies are intended to provide reliable services that support consumers, businesses, and communities in an increasingly connected economy.
