Senator Rodante Marcoleta called on the Filipinos to remain united in calling for transparency, accountability, justice, and democracy, even as he acknowledged being temporarily separated from his supporters.
In a message to the public, Sen. Marcoleta urged Filipinos to continue making their collective aspirations heard before the international community until their long-standing demands are achieved.
Sen. Marcoleta is currently under police custody and remains confined at the Philippine National Police General Hospital, where he has been undergoing medical evaluation. He is facing a non-bailable plunder case before the Sandiganbayan in connection with the alleged nondisclosure of ₱75 million in campaign donations.
In his message, the senator said transparency, accountability, justice, and democracy are necessary to secure the stability, peace, order, and prosperity sought by the country and its people.
Sen. Marcoleta also expressed hope that he would eventually reunite with his supporters, invoking faith and perseverance as they continue their calls for reform.
