Armed Forces of the Philippines Chief of Staff Gen. Romeo S. Brawner Jr. recognized key Philippine Army partners for their support to military programs, civic initiatives, and national security efforts during a Stakeholder Recognition Ceremony at Camp General Emilio Aguinaldo in Quezon City on July 6.
For the first time, the AFP conferred the Golden Flame Partnership Award on selected stakeholders. The award symbolizes unity, trust, and shared commitment with the military.
Brawner presented the award to Megaworld President and CEO Dr. Lourdes Gutierrez-Alfonso and Agusan del Norte Governor Maria Angelica Rosedell Amante.
Megaworld was cited for using its nationwide communication platforms, theaters, and properties to support Army recruitment and civic awareness campaigns, providing major advertising support at no cost to the Philippine Army.
The company’s partnership with the Army also covered security cooperation, threat and disaster response, national commemorations promoting patriotism, greening programs inside military installations, and public awareness efforts on the Philippines’ sovereign rights in the West Philippine Sea.
Megaworld also launched the Army Appreciation Program, which gives Philippine Army personnel, civilian human resources, and reservists discounts on selected mall services during special events.
Amante-Matba, meanwhile, was recognized for her commitment to peace and development and for strengthening civil-military cooperation in Agusan del Norte.
The AFP said her support has been vital in implementing government programs that helped dismantle guerrilla fronts and promote long-term stability in the region.
The Philippine Army said it continues to serve as a bridge between the public and private sectors by building partnerships that support the AFP’s mission of pursuing peace, security, and national development.
It said the Golden Flame Partnership Award reflects the valuable role of institutions and local leaders in supporting the Philippine Army, the largest service branch of the AFP.
