Malacañang on Tuesday said Filipinos will continue to support tennis standout Alex Eala not only for her victories, but also for the heart and resilience she shows on the court.
Executive Secretary Ralph Recto conveyed the Palace message in a Facebook post, encouraging Eala to keep improving and remain hopeful despite the challenges of her young career.
“Nakaka-proud ang ipinapakita mong galing, sipag, at determinasyon sa buong mundo. Maraming salamat sa patuloy na pagbibigay ng inspirasyon sa mga Pilipino at karangalan sa ating bansa (The talent, diligence, and determination you show to the world is a source of pride. Thank you for continuing to inspire Filipinos and bring honor to our country),” Recto said.
“The whole nation is cheering you on—not just for your victories, but for the heart and resilience you bring to every game. Huwag na huwag hihinto sa iyong paglago (Don’t stop growing),” he added.
Recto issued the message after Eala bowed out of the 2026 Wimbledon Championships following her Round of 16 loss to Italy’s Jasmine Paolini at the All England Lawn Tennis Club in London.
Malacañang said Eala’s campaign remained a source of pride for Filipinos, underscoring her continued rise as one of the country’s most promising athletes.
