The Philippine National Police (PNP) said it had arrested 7,923 wanted persons in nationwide operations in June.

The PNP said the arrests were made from June 1 to 30 through the implementation of court-issued warrants by Police Regional Offices across the country.

Of the total, 2,294 were classified as Most Wanted Persons, while 5,629 were listed as Other Wanted Persons.

The National Capital Region Police Office recorded the highest number of arrests with 1,383, followed by CALABARZON with 1,263 and Central Luzon with 1,032.

The PNP said the operations were carried out in coordination with the judiciary and other law enforcement agencies as part of its continuing campaign to bring persons facing criminal charges before the courts.

PNP Chief Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. said the service of warrants must be done fairly, consistently, and with respect for the rights of those involved.

“Our responsibility is to enforce the law fairly, consistently, and with integrity. Ang bawat warrant na maayos nating naipatutupad ay hakbang para mapanatili ang tiwala ng publiko at mapalakas ang ating justice system. I commend our personnel for remaining focused on the mission while ensuring that every operation is conducted with professionalism and respect for the rights of all concerned,” Nartatez said.

The PNP said operations against wanted persons would continue nationwide through intelligence-driven enforcement efforts anchored on the rule of law.
