Police seized more than P435 million worth of illegal drugs and arrested 6,085 people in nationwide anti-drug operations in June, the Philippine National Police said.
Based on consolidated reports, the PNP said its units conducted 5,298 anti-illegal drug operations from June 1 to 30, resulting in the confiscation of drugs with a total standard drug price of P435,347,081.80.
The seized items included 57,808.66 grams of shabu, 30,517.69 grams of dried marijuana leaves, 171,034 marijuana plants, 2,185.11 grams of kush marijuana, 315.07 grams of ecstasy, and 106.79 grams of cocaine.
The PNP said the operations were part of its intelligence-driven campaign against illegal drugs under Enhanced Managing Police Operations.
PNP Chief Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. commended police units for the accomplishment but reminded personnel that anti-drug operations must be carried out with professionalism, discipline, and respect for rights.
“These results reflect the dedication of our police officers who continue to work closely with our communities in addressing the illegal drug problem. Ngunit kasabay ng ating matatag na pagpapatupad ng batas ay ang ating pananagutan na tiyaking bawat operasyon ay ginagawa nang tama, makatarungan, at may paggalang sa karapatan ng bawat isa. We will sustain these efforts because every illegal drug taken off the streets is another step toward safer communities,” Nartatez said.
The PNP said it would continue intelligence-based operations and coordination with local governments, partner law enforcement agencies, and community stakeholders to reduce the supply of illegal drugs nationwide.
