The Philippine National Police arrested the Number 1 Regional Most Wanted Person in an operation in La Carlota City, Negros Occidental, marking another major accomplishment in its continuing campaign against wanted persons.
The 20-year-old male suspect was arrested by joint operatives of the La Carlota Component City Police Station, with support from the Regional Intelligence Unit and the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office.
Police said the arrest was made through the service of a warrant issued by the Regional Trial Court in La Carlota City. The warrant covers six counts of rape, with no bail recommended.
The operation was conducted in Barangay III, Poblacion, La Carlota City. Police officers informed the suspect of his constitutional rights upon arrest, while a Body-Worn Camera was used throughout the operation in accordance with established police procedures.
The suspect is now under police custody while undergoing the required legal process.
The PNP said the accomplishment reflects the sustained implementation of its Focused Agenda, particularly under Enhanced Managing Police Operations, which emphasizes lawful, intelligence-driven, and accountable police actions.
The operation also supports the administration of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s peace and order priorities by helping to ensure that individuals facing serious criminal charges are brought before the courts.
PNP Chief Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. commended the operating team for the successful arrest and reminded all police units to continue performing their duties with professionalism and respect for the law.
“Ang mahalaga, naipatupad ang warrant nang maayos at walang naging aberya. Gawin natin palagi ang ating tungkulin nang may disiplina, respeto sa batas, at paggalang sa karapatan ng bawat isa. Iyan ang inaasahan ng taumbayan sa atin,” PGen Nartatez said.
He also urged police personnel to sustain the same level of professionalism in future operations.
