The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority is working with government and international partners to prepare Filipino workers for employment opportunities in the country’s expanding renewable energy sector.

TESDA Secretary Kiko Benitez met with Danish Ambassador Franz-Michael Skjold Mellbin, Department of Energy Secretary Sharon Garin, and representatives from the Commission on Higher Education to discuss workforce development strategies for the industry.

According to TESDA, the discussions focused on establishing training frameworks for offshore wind and solar energy projects, aligning training programs with global industry standards, and strengthening cooperation among government agencies, industry stakeholders, and educational institutions.

The meeting also covered trainer certification, emerging renewable energy technologies, and future workforce requirements as the country seeks to build the skills needed to support its green energy transition.

TESDA said the initiative aims to better position Filipino workers for jobs in the growing renewable energy sector while supporting broader efforts to advance clean energy development in the Philippines.
