Marcos Assures PAF of Modernization Push, Stronger Support

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. on Wednesday assured the Philippine Air Force (PAF) of continued government support for its modernization efforts as the service marked its 79th Founding Anniversary at Villamor Air Base in Pasay City.

Speaking before PAF personnel, Marcos said the government remains committed to strengthening the Air Force as it carries out its mandate amid increasingly complex security challenges.

“It is only fitting, therefore, that your government remains steadfast in supporting the Air Force as it fulfills its mandate,” President Marcos said during the celebration, which carried the theme, “Forging a Credible, Agile, and Multi-Domain Air Force through Mission Readiness, Capability Development, and Values-Based Service.”

“This is particularly important as modern challenges grow increasingly complex, requiring sustained investments in your capabilities so that you can perform your duties more safely and effectively,” the President said.

Marcos said the PAF Modernization Program has helped improve the service’s operational capabilities through the acquisition of helicopters, aircraft, and surveillance radar systems.

“Be assured that the Administration is committed to providing the Philippine Air Force with the resources, opportunities, and support necessary to carry out your mission with honor and excellence,” President Marcos said.

The Chief Executive said the government’s support also extends to the development and welfare of the Air Force personnel who operate and sustain these capabilities.

“We continue to invest in your development through specialized intelligence training, advanced flight simulation programs, and participation in exercises with other major services and international counterparts,” said President Marcos.

He said the administration will also continue supporting programs that protect the mental health and overall well-being of every Airman and Airwoman of the PAF.

“In line with this, I also reiterate my directive to the Philippine Air Force to ensure the airworthiness of all its aircraft and to uphold rigorous safety protocols in mission and training activities,” President Marcos said, noting that the aircraft carry the women and men who serve the nation.

“Their safety must always remain paramount,” the President said.

As Commander-in-Chief, Marcos urged PAF personnel to uphold professionalism, discipline, and integrity in the performance of their duties.

“Above all, remain faithful to your constitutional duty to protect our people and defend the democratic institutions that safeguard our freedoms,” said President Marcos.
