Police Seizes Vehicles Linked to Illegal Vehicle Financing Schemes

The Philippine National Police–Highway Patrol Group (PNP-HPG) has recovered two vehicles in Bulacan allegedly linked to “Talon Casa” or illegal vehicle financing schemes, while also impounding another unit in Pangasinan for traffic violations during separate operations on June 19, 2026.

In Bocaue, Bulacan, personnel from the Provincial Highway Patrol Team (PHPT) flagged down a Mitsubishi Xpander during an anti-carnapping operation after a seatbelt violation was observed. Subsequent verification showed that the vehicle remained under a financing arrangement and was allegedly involved in a “Labas/Talon Casa” scheme.

Later the same day, also in Bocaue, authorities recovered a Toyota Innova after discrepancies were found in the documents presented by its driver. Further checks indicated that the vehicle was still subject to an existing financing contract and was allegedly tied to a “Talon Casa Benta” transaction.

In a separate operation in Dagupan City, Pangasinan, a Toyota Wigo hatchback was impounded after being flagged for using an improvised license plate. The driver failed to present valid authorization for the plate as well as complete registration documents.

PNP-HPG Director PBGen. Rommel Batangan commended operating units for what he described as heightened vigilance against fraudulent vehicle financing practices, alongside continued enforcement of road safety regulations.

“These operations highlight the importance of continuous verification and enforcement efforts in preventing the proliferation of vehicles involved in fraudulent transactions and financing-related schemes,” Batangan said, urging the public to exercise caution when acquiring motor vehicles and to report suspicious deals to authorities.

The PNP-HPG reiterated its campaign under “Bagong PNP para sa Bagong Pilipinas,” emphasizing fast, disciplined, and visible law enforcement presence on national roads.
