Stolen Motorcycle Recovered, Vehicle Impounded in Separate Ops

The Philippine National Police–Highway Patrol Group (PNP-HPG) recovered a stolen motorcycle in Taguig City and impounded another vehicle for traffic violations in Pangasinan during separate operations conducted on June 20, 2026.

In Pampanga, personnel of the Provincial Highway Patrol Team (PHPT) took custody of a Honda Click 125 motorcycle after its voluntary surrender by an individual who later discovered the unit had been reported stolen. Authorities said the vehicle was purchased through an online marketplace before it was traced to a theft incident that occurred on May 26, 2026, at the T2 Parking Area in Upper McKinley Hills, Barangay Pinagsama, Taguig City.

In a separate operation in Binmaley, Pangasinan, the provincial highway patrol team impounded a Toyota Vios after it was flagged during anti-carnapping and traffic enforcement activities. The driver failed to present proper authorization for an improvised license plate, prompting authorities to take the vehicle into custody.

PNP-HPG Director PBGen. Rommel Batangan commended operating units for their continued enforcement efforts and reiterated the importance of verifying vehicle records prior to purchase, particularly in transactions conducted online.

He also noted the value of public cooperation in recovering stolen vehicles and preventing fraud involving motor vehicle sales.

“We encourage the public to verify the legitimacy of motor vehicles and documents before entering into any transaction,” Batangan said. “The cooperation shown by concerned citizens greatly contributes to the recovery of stolen vehicles and the prevention of criminal activities involving motor vehicles.”

The PNP-HPG said it remains committed to sustained anti-carnapping operations and stricter enforcement of traffic laws under its campaign, “Bagong PNP para sa Bagong Pilipinas: Serbisyong Mabilis, Tapat, at Nararamdaman.”
