PMA Official Cites Shared Values at Accountancy Group’s Leadership Turnover

A senior official of the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) highlighted the parallel values of military service and the accounting profession during the Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA) induction and turnover ceremonies held recently in Baguio City.

Brigadier General Onorlie Brillantes of the Philippine Air Force, Assistant Superintendent of the PMA, served as guest of honor and speaker at the event held at the Baguio Country Club.

In his remarks, Brillantes underscored the common principles guiding both institutions, stressing that PMA and PICPA are anchored on service, discipline, and public trust.

He drew comparisons between their respective mandates, noting that military officers and certified public accountants both operate under strict ethical standards and accountability to the public.

“Sa PMA, we live by courage, integrity, and loyalty. Sa PICPA, you live by independence, competence, and uncompromising integrity. Pareho tayong may bigat ng public trust. Soldiers protect sovereignty; CPAs protect truth and financial stability,” he said.

Brillantes also emphasized that leadership transitions are essential to sustaining institutional stability, noting that responsibility must outlast individual tenure.

“Leadership is not about the individual, but about continuity of mission. Leaders may change, but the spirit of service must remain constant,” he said.

The event marked the formal turnover of PICPA leadership, with members reaffirming their commitment to professional ethics and public service.

Both institutions underscored their shared commitment to integrity, accountability, and excellence in serving the public.
