The Philippine National Police (PNP) has directed intensified security measures in schools following two separate stabbing incidents reported inside school premises in Cavite on June 16 and 19, 2026.
The incidents, which involved learners from different schools, are being treated as isolated cases pending investigation, with authorities emphasizing the protection of the privacy and rights of minors involved.
In response, all police units have been ordered to increase police visibility and conduct sustained patrols in and around school zones, particularly during opening, recess, and dismissal hours.
The Police Regional Office CALABARZON and the Cavite Police Provincial Office have been directed to strictly enforce the measures and coordinate closely with school administrators and local government units.
Authorities will also carry out security assessments in affected schools, including perimeter inspections and reviews of access control systems, to identify vulnerabilities and strengthen preventive measures.
The PNP said it is working with education officials and local stakeholders to reinforce existing safety protocols and prevent similar incidents.
It reiterated that violence in schools is unacceptable and assured the public of continued efforts to maintain safe and secure learning environments for students.
