The Philippine National Police (PNP) reported a series of successful anti-illegal drug operations across multiple regions, underscoring its continuing campaign to clear communities of illegal drugs and strengthen public safety in support of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s call for a more secure and orderly nation.
In Benguet, police and partner units conducted a sustained marijuana eradication operation in a remote plantation site in Bakun town, where authorities discovered and uprooted an estimated 12,000 fully grown marijuana plants with a standard drug price of about P2.4 million.
In Iloilo City, police operatives carried out a buy-bust operation in Mandurriao, resulting in the recovery of around 200 grams of suspected shabu valued at approximately P1.36 million. Several individuals were arrested and are now under police custody for documentation and filing of charges.
In Pagadian City, Zamboanga del Sur, another coordinated buy-bust operation led to the seizure of around 600 grams of suspected shabu worth about P4.08 million. A suspect was arrested in a commercial area, underscoring the continued presence of illegal drug networks in public spaces.
In Negros Oriental, law enforcement units intercepted drug distribution activities in Valencia town, recovering approximately 511 grams of suspected shabu valued at P3.47 million. One individual was arrested during the operation and is currently in police custody.
PNP Chief Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. commended the operating units, saying the results reflect the organization’s sustained drive against illegal drugs and its commitment to protecting communities.
“Patuloy nating paiigtingin ang ating operasyon laban sa ilegal na droga. Ang mga tagumpay na ito ay patunay na seryoso ang PNP sa pagpapanatili ng kapayapaan at kaligtasan ng ating mga komunidad,” he said.
He added that the accomplishments align with the PNP Focused Agenda under Enhanced Managing Police Operations, which emphasizes coordinated, intelligence-driven, and responsive policing nationwide.
The PNP reiterated its guiding principle, “Bagong PNP para sa Bagong Pilipinas: Serbisyong Mabilis, Tapat at Nararamdaman,” as it continues to strengthen its campaign for a more responsive and accountable police service.
