Senator Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan has dismissed allegations that he received suitcases filled with cash, calling the claims “all insinuations, all allegations, all show” and denying any involvement in the controversy.
In a statement on Tuesday, the solon said the accusations were meant to undermine his reported designation as chair of the Senate Blue Ribbon Subcommittee, which is set to look into alleged irregularities in flood control projects.
“They just want to stain my reported appointment as chairperson of the Senate Blue Ribbon Subcommittee that will investigate the flood-control scam. The attempts to sully my character have no basis whatsoever,” he said.
Pangilinan strongly denied the allegations and said he would pursue legal action against those behind the claims, describing them as baseless and defamatory.
“And because you, through your open forum about the suitcases allegedly linked to billions of pesos stolen from the public treasury, have implicated my family, you will now face something that is neither an insinuation, an allegation, nor a spectacle — in court. You will be held accountable for the slander you have committed,” he added.
The senator did not provide further details on the specific individuals or forum he was referring to, but emphasized that he intends to pursue libel charges over what he described as false and damaging statements.
