The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in Davao Occidental has extended humanitarian assistance to families affected by the recent earthquake in Jose Abad Santos, turning over relief packs to the local government unit on June 15, 2026.
The relief items, composed of food supplies and basic necessities, were formally handed over at around 3:00 pm and are set to be distributed by local authorities to affected residents.
PDEA said the assistance aims to help address the immediate needs of families as they begin recovery efforts following the disaster.
While primarily mandated to lead anti-illegal drug operations, the agency said the initiative reflects its broader commitment to public service, particularly in times of crisis and natural calamities.
The outreach forms part of continuing coordination between PDEA field offices and local government units to support community resilience and recovery efforts in disaster-affected areas.
PDEA Davao Occidental said it remains ready to work with partner agencies in delivering assistance where needed, underscoring the importance of solidarity during emergencies that impact vulnerable communities.
