Joint Task Force Agila (JTF Agila) has intensified humanitarian assistance and disaster response operations in communities affected by the recent earthquake in Southern Mindanao. The task force continues to coordinate closely with local governments and partner agencies to deliver relief and provide emergency services.
On June 11, Army search, rescue, and retrieval teams conducted operations at the damaged CEPAVI Warehouse in Barangay Calumpang, General Santos City. Troops also distributed potable water to internally displaced persons at an evacuation site in Barangay Bawing.
In Davao Occidental, task force units facilitated the airlifting and distribution of relief supplies to isolated communities and assisted in the medical evacuation of injured residents from Sarangani Municipality.
JTF Agila also supported the arrival of humanitarian assistance from the Provincial Government of Davao Oriental, which included food packs, potable water, fuel, and medical supplies.
Major General Alvin Luzon, Commander of JTF Agila, reaffirmed the task force’s commitment to affected communities. “Our personnel will continue working alongside partner agencies and local government units to ensure that help reaches those who need it most. We remain ready and dependable in responding to disasters and assisting our communities during this challenging time,” he said.
The Army, Air Force, and Navy components of JTF Agila remain on heightened alert as relief and recovery efforts continue across the earthquake-hit areas.
