For the 128th anniversary of the country’s independence, the Philippine National Police (PNP) emphasizes the ongoing responsibility to protect and uphold freedom for future generations.

Under this year’s theme, “Kalayaan, Kinabukasan, Kasaysayan,” the PNP highlighted that the legacy of independence is not only a remembrance of the sacrifices of heroes but also a call to action for peace, order, and security in every community.

In a message by PNP Chief Police General Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr., he reaffirmed the organization’s dedication to public service, stating that the force remains steadfast, disciplined, and committed to safeguarding the gains of freedom. “We honor the courage of our forebears by remaining steadfast in our duty—firm, disciplined, and always in service of the Filipino people,” he said.

The PNP urged citizens to continue fostering unity, patriotism, and shared responsibility, reinforcing the ideals of a safer and stronger Philippines.

“Maligayang Araw ng Kalayaan sa ating lahat!” the PNP chief concluded, extending greetings to all Filipinos on this historic day.
