PAL Deploys Second Airbus A350-1000 on Manila-Toronto Route

Philippine Airlines (PAL) has strengthened its North American operations by deploying its second Airbus A350-1000 on the Manila (MNL) to Toronto (YYZ) route.

The deployment follows the recent arrival of PAL’s second A350-1000, marking another milestone in the flag carrier’s ongoing fleet modernization program. The aircraft will operate alongside PAL’s first Airbus A350-1000, which currently serves the Manila-New York (JFK) route.

With Toronto now joining New York as a premium A350-1000 destination, PAL said it continues to enhance its long-haul service offerings for passengers traveling between the Philippines and North America.

The aircraft is configured with 382 seats, including 42 in Business Class, 24 in Premium Economy, and 316 in Economy Class. It offers travelers enhanced comfort and next-generation onboard amenities across all cabins.

As the newest and largest aircraft type in PAL’s fleet, the A350-1000 forms part of the airline’s firm order for nine widebody aircraft. Philippine Airlines remains the first and only carrier in Southeast Asia to operate the ultra-long-range variant.

Apart from improving the passenger experience and fuel efficiency, the aircraft’s deployment is also expected to significantly boost PAL’s cargo capabilities. The airline said the aircraft enables high-volume shipments to and from North America to connect seamlessly with its broader domestic and regional cargo network.

PAL’s second A350-1000 follows the delivery of its first A350-1000 in December 2025 and forms part of the airline’s order for nine Airbus A350-1000 aircraft.

The Lucio Tan-led airline earlier reported a net income of $78.77 million in the first quarter of 2026, up 2.6 percent from the same period last year.

PAL also posted total revenue of $895.70 million during the period, an increase of 9.7 percent compared to the same quarter last year.

In 2025, global aviation analytics firm Cirium recognized Philippine Airlines as the No. 1 most on-time airline in the Asia-Pacific region.

PAL’s fleet of Boeing, Airbus, and De Havilland aircraft operates scheduled nonstop flights from hubs in Manila, Cebu, Clark, and Davao to 30 destinations in the Philippines and 41 destinations across Asia, North America, Australia, and the Middle East.
