PNP Scholar Graduates Under Anti-Insurgency Education Program

A scholar of the Philippine National Police’s (PNP) Project F.I.V.E. (Fight Insurgency Via Education) has graduated from college in Daraga, Albay, marking a milestone for the education-based program aimed at helping vulnerable youth build better futures.

The Regional Mobile Force Battalion (RMFB) 5 said its scholar officially earned a Bachelor of Elementary Education degree from Daraga Community College on May 29, 2026.

Despite financial and personal challenges, the scholar was able to complete college through perseverance, discipline, and determination, the RMFB 5 said.

Project F.I.V.E provides free education and support to young people from communities in need. The program seeks to guide them toward productive lives and away from poverty, violence, and threats to peace, including insurgency.

The RMFB 5 said the scholar’s achievement showed that education remains one of the most effective tools in addressing social problems and preventing young people from being drawn into conflict.

PNP Chief Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. said every student helped by the program represents progress toward peace and a better future.

“Every child we help graduate is one step away from violence and one step closer to a better future. This is the true spirit of PNP service, to give hope,” Nartatez said.

He said the initiative is more than just an education program, describing it as an investment in the country’s future.

“With every scholar who succeeds, we strengthen peace in the community,” he added.

The RMFB 5 said it will continue implementing Project F.I.V.E. as part of its broader advocacy for peace and development.

The police unit said the scholar’s success reflects the PNP’s continuing commitment to community service under the Bagong PNP para sa Bagong Pilipinas campaign.
