The Philippine Coast Guard in Bicol has placed personnel and rescue assets on standby as rains from a low pressure area and the southwest monsoon continue to affect the region.
In a statement, the Coast Guard District Bicol said it remains on heightened alert and ready for deployment in response to possible maritime incidents and weather-related emergencies.
Search and rescue assets have been strategically positioned to allow immediate response, while Coast Guard personnel continue to monitor weather conditions, sea conditions, and port situations to ensure the safety of passengers, fisherfolk, and coastal communities.
The district also advised the public to remain vigilant, monitor official weather advisories, and prioritize safety amid the continuing rains.
