The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency seized P604.41 million worth of illegal drugs in a weeklong series of operations across the country from May 21 to 28.
PDEA said Sunday the operations, conducted with the Philippine National Police and other law enforcement agencies, also led to the arrest of 126 drug personalities.
A total of 88 anti-drug operations were carried out during the period, including 70 buy-bust operations.
Among the seized illegal drugs were 66.01 kilos of shabu valued at P448.86 million. Authorities also confiscated cocaine, marijuana, ecstasy, and ketamine.
One of the major operations was conducted in Naga City, Cebu, on May 23, where authorities seized 20 kilos of shabu worth P136 million and arrested two individuals.
Of the 126 arrested drug personalities, PDEA said 66 were drug pushers. The others included 29 drug den visitors or clients, 13 drug den owners or maintainers, nine drug den employees, eight possessors, and one drug user.
“This week-long anti-drug campaign reflects our unwavering commitment to protecting Filipino communities from the threats of illegal drugs,” PDEA Director General Isagani Nerez said.
“These accomplishments are significant; they are only part of our continuing mission,” he added.
Nerez said PDEA, along with the PNP and other law enforcement agencies, remains resolute in dismantling drug networks across the country.
He also urged the public to continue reporting illegal drug activities, saying tips may be relayed through PDEA hotlines at 0995-354-7020 and 0931-027-8212.
“Do not hesitate. Your identity will remain confidential,” Nerez said.
