The Commission on Filipinos Overseas (CFO) is expanding its outreach to non-resident Filipinos worldwide through radio programs aimed at keeping overseas communities informed and connected with the Philippines.
In a statement, the CFO said its programs “Serbisyong CFO sa Bagong Pilipinas” and “Bridges on Air,” both aired on Radyo Pilipinas World Service, serve as platforms for public service information, migration updates, and empowerment initiatives for Filipinos abroad.
“Serbisyong CFO sa Bagong Pilipinas,” which airs every Tuesday at 9:30 am, provides updates on CFO programs and discusses migration-related concerns, including legal protections for overseas workers and guidelines on international migration programs such as the U.S. J-1 Exchange Visitor Program.
Meanwhile, “Bridges on Air,” aired every Saturday at 8 am in partnership with the Presidential Broadcast Service-Bureau of Broadcast Services, focuses on diaspora engagement, financial literacy, wealth management, and migration education for overseas Filipinos and their families.
The program also features the “Pinoy Ako” segment, which highlights success stories of Filipinos abroad to encourage participation in nation-building initiatives.
According to the CFO, the broadcasting initiatives support its mandate under Batas Pambansa Blg. 79 and help strengthen engagement with the estimated 10.7 million Filipinos living overseas.
The agency said the programs reinforce its commitment to protecting the welfare of overseas Filipinos and maintaining strong connections with them worldwide.
