Three individuals separately listed as the No. 1 Regional Most Wanted Person in Caraga, Central Luzon and Calabarzon were arrested in police operations in Surigao del Sur, Pampanga and Sorsogon, the Philippine National Police said.
In Barobo, Surigao del Sur, personnel from the Regional Intelligence Division 13 and the Barobo Municipal Police Station arrested alias “Commander Puma,” 39, on July 9.
The suspect, identified as the No. 1 Regional Most Wanted Person of Police Regional Office 13, was apprehended based on court-issued warrants for frustrated murder and three counts of attempted murder.
He is now under police custody for proper disposition.
Also on July 9, joint operatives arrested the No. 1 Regional Most Wanted Person of Police Regional Office 3 in Barangay San Jose, City of San Fernando, Pampanga.
The operation was carried out by the PNP Drug Enforcement Group Special Operations Unit 3, San Fernando City Police Station, Pampanga Police Provincial Office, CIDG Pampanga and Regional Intelligence Unit 3.
The suspect was wanted for rape and sexual assault, with no bail recommended by the court.
Meanwhile, personnel from the Regional Intelligence Division 4A, with support from police units in Regions 4A and 5, arrested alias “Ronnel Reyes,” 38, in Sorsogon City on July 10.
Reyes, a construction worker and native of Negros Occidental, was listed as the No. 1 Regional Most Wanted Person of Police Regional Office 4A.
He was arrested based on a murder warrant issued by the Regional Trial Court of San Mateo, Rizal, which recommended no bail.
PNP chief Police General Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. commended the operating units for their coordination and reminded personnel to observe lawful procedures in every operation.
“Ang bawat arrest warrant na naisasakatuparan ay isang hakbang para palakasin ang tiwala ng publiko sa ating institusyon. Patuloy nating paiigtingin ang ating operasyon, pero laging may kasamang respeto sa batas at karapatan ng bawat mamamayan,” Nartatez said.
The PNP said the arrests highlighted the effectiveness of intelligence-driven operations under its Focused Agenda, particularly the Enhanced Managing Police Operations, which aims to strengthen coordination, planning and response among police units.
It added that authorities would continue pursuing individuals with standing warrants while upholding due process, professionalism and respect for human rights.
