Senior Bank Teller Netted Over Alleged ₱4.4-Million Account Theft in Pasig

Personnel from the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) apprehend a 34-year-old senior bank teller in Pasig City for allegedly carrying out unauthorized withdrawals targeting a client’s account.

The incident came to light on September 14, 2026, when an account holder checked a missing P46,000 interest payment, only to discover that an expected P5,000,000.00 balance had plummeted to P600,161.26, leaving an unrecorded shortfall of P4,399,838.74.

During an internal bank investigation, the employee reportedly confessed to withdrawing the funds and forging the depositor’s specimen signature to complete the fraudulent transactions. Police units took her into custody at the Rosario Police Sub-Station before transferring her to the Pasig City Police Station for processing and medical evaluation at the Rizal Medical Center prior to filing charges.

Highlighting law enforcement’s commitment to tackling financial offenses and enforcing accountability, PNP Chief PGEN Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. stressed that police units will act swiftly on reported crimes.

“Every complaint deserves proper investigation, and those who violate the law must be held accountable through due process,” Nartatez said.

The PNP Chief also urged bank clients to regularly monitor their financial activity.

“Maging maingat sa inyong mga account at agad magsumbong kapag may napansing kahina-hinalang transaksyon,” he added.

The suspect remains in police detention and faces formal charges of Qualified Theft through Falsification of Commercial Document.
