The Quezon City Council will conduct an impartial inquiry into the altercation involving Councilor Ranulfo “Tatay Rannie” Ludovica and a Land Transportation Office enforcer during a rally at the People Power Monument on July 1.
In a statement, the Council said the incident has raised public concern and must be handled with fairness, objectivity, and due process.
The inquiry will seek to establish the facts surrounding the confrontation and determine whether the actions of those involved were consistent with the standards of conduct expected of public officials.
While recognizing the dedication of public servants, the Council said officials must raise legitimate concerns and demand accountability in a manner that remains respectful, professional, and mindful of the dignity and rights of others.
The Council said all parties will be given a fair opportunity to present their side as the proper processes are observed.
It also expressed hope that the incident would serve as a reminder of the need for ethical leadership, responsible public service, and accountability.
The Quezon City Council said it remains committed to upholding the integrity of public office, strengthening public trust, and ensuring that its actions reflect the values expected of public servants.
