Police Brig. Gen. Dennis A. Esguerra, Officer-in-Charge of Police Regional Office 9 (PRO9), paid a courtesy visit to the headquarters of the 11th Infantry “Alakdan” Division, Philippine Army, at Kuta Heneral Teodulfo Bautista in Barangay Busbus, Jolo, Sulu on June 17, 2026.
Upon arrival, Esguerra was accorded military honors and welcomed by Maj. Gen. Leonardo I. Peña, commander of the 11th Infantry Division and Joint Task Force Orion, together with Col. Rommil R. Abayon, assistant division commander for reservist and retiree affairs. The reception featured a traditional Pangalay Tausug performance highlighting the cultural heritage of Sulu.
The visit highlighted continued coordination between the Philippine Army and Philippine National Police in advancing peace and security efforts in Western Mindanao. Both officials discussed the security situation in the region, ongoing joint operations, and measures to further strengthen inter-agency cooperation.
Maj. Gen. Peña thanked PRO9 for its sustained support, stressing that close coordination among security forces remains vital in maintaining stability and protecting communities.
Esguerra reaffirmed the PNP’s commitment to work closely with the 11th Infantry Division and Joint Task Force Orion to enhance operational coordination, improve public safety, and sustain peace and development gains.
The engagement underscored the continuing partnership of both institutions under a whole-of-nation approach to security and development in Western Mindanao.
