PNP to Host ASEANAPOL Conference 2026 in Manila

The Philippine National Police (PNP) will host the 44th ASEANAPOL Conference in Manila from July 22 to 26, 2026, bringing together police chiefs and senior law enforcement officials from across Southeast Asia.

The regional conference will be held at the Manila Marriott Hotel under the theme “United in Vision: Securing People and Strengthening Collaboration.”

The gathering will serve as a high-level platform for ASEAN police organizations to discuss shared security concerns, including transnational crime, cyber threats, human trafficking, illegal drugs, and other law enforcement challenges affecting the region.

ASEANAPOL is held annually on a rotating basis among member-countries and aims to strengthen police professionalism, improve regional cooperation, and promote closer ties among law enforcement agencies in Southeast Asia.

The organization is composed of Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam. It was founded in 1981 by the Philippines, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Singapore before expanding to include other ASEAN states.

As host country, the Philippines will lead discussions and help facilitate cooperation among participating delegations. The 2026 hosting also marks another milestone for the country, which previously hosted the ASEANAPOL Conference in 1981, 1987, 1993, 2003, and 2014.

PNP Chief Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. said hosting the conference is both an honor and a responsibility for the police organization.

“We consider the hosting of the 44th ASEANAPOL Conference as both an honor and a responsibility. This is an opportunity to further strengthen trust, coordination, and interoperability among our police forces in the region,” Nartatez said.

“Makakaasa po ang ating mga kapatid na pulis sa ASEAN na handa ang PNP na maglingkod at makipagtulungan para sa mas ligtas na komunidad,” he added.

The PNP said the event supports its broader efforts to enhance police operations, strengthen international coordination, and contribute to regional peace and stability.
