PNP cites public trust as motivation to improve service

The Philippine National Police (PNP) on Wednesday expressed appreciation for a recent national survey showing sustained public trust and satisfaction with the country’s police force, saying the results reinforce its commitment to public service and accountability.

PNP chief Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. welcomed the findings of the latest survey by OCTA Research, which reported a 63 percent trust rating and 61 percent satisfaction rating for the police in the early part of the year.

He said the results reflect ongoing efforts by the police organization to maintain peace and order, enforce laws, and safeguard communities across the country.

According to Nartatez, the survey serves both as encouragement and a reminder for the PNP to further improve its performance in delivering public service, particularly in crime prevention and community engagement.

He also thanked the public for their continued support, emphasizing that the police force remains committed to serving with integrity and professionalism.

The PNP chief reiterated that the organization will sustain its focus on maintaining peace and order through increased police visibility, faster response to incidents, and stronger coordination with local government units and community stakeholders.

He added that the PNP will continue to pursue “humane and prompt” law enforcement while intensifying its campaign against criminality under its ongoing reform and operational framework.

The police leadership said it will also strengthen community partnerships as part of its broader strategy to enhance trust and improve the delivery of security services nationwide.
