President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and Vietnamese President Tô Lâm witnessed the presentation of signed bilateral agreements at Malacañan Palace on Monday, June 1, in a move aimed at further strengthening ties between the Philippines and Vietnam.

Tô Lâm, who also serves as General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, joined Marcos at the President’s Hall for the ceremonial presentation of agreements covering areas of cooperation between the two Southeast Asian nations.

Following the ceremony, the two leaders delivered a joint press statement and reaffirmed their commitment to expanding collaboration across areas of mutual interest.

They also underscored the importance of sustained cooperation in promoting regional stability, advancing shared goals, and strengthening economic, political, and people-to-people ties.

The presentation of the agreements highlighted the growing partnership between Manila and Hanoi as both countries continue to pursue closer engagement in support of regional development and prosperity.

Marcos and Tô Lâm expressed confidence that the new agreements would help broaden cooperation and reinforce the longstanding friendship between the Philippines and Vietnam.
