The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) strengthened its operational readiness after its personnel joined a multinational Tactical Combat Casualty Care training during the Rim of the Pacific Exercise 2026 in Hawaii.
PCG personnel participated in the Canadian-led Tactical Combat Casualty Care Tier 1 – All Service Members Course aboard the Royal Canadian Navy Halifax-class frigate HMCS Ottawa on June 30, 2026.
The training was conducted alongside service members from allied and partner nations and provided participants with essential knowledge and practical skills in responding to trauma-related emergencies in operational environments.
Designed primarily for non-medical personnel, the course focused on life-saving interventions, casualty assessment, and immediate trauma care techniques that may be applied during maritime and joint operations.
The PCG said the activity also enhanced interoperability among participating forces, as the Philippines continues to strengthen cooperation with international partners in responding to complex and evolving security challenges.
The training was also in line with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s “Bagong Pilipinas” vision of building a capable, resilient, and collaborative force prepared for modern security challenges.
