The Pasig City Government has trained 74 drivers and employees on defensive driving and road safety as part of efforts to promote the responsible use of government vehicles and improve public service delivery.
The two-day Defensive Driving Training was held on June 24 and 25 at the Alumni Hall of Rizal High School in Barangay Caniogan, with participants divided into two batches.
According to the city government, the program is part of Pasig’s continuing initiative to strengthen the skills and safety awareness of personnel who operate government vehicles.
The training was organized by the Office of General Services in partnership with Shell Pilipinas Corporation, which provided the sessions free of charge through instructors from A1 Driving School.
Participants were trained on the principles of defensive driving, road safety, traffic laws, traffic signs, safe driving techniques in various situations, and accident prevention.
The OGS also discussed the proper use, preventive maintenance, and fuel-efficient operation of government vehicles to help ensure that public assets are handled responsibly.
The Pasig City government said the training included interactive discussions and situational activities designed to enhance participants’ driving skills, promote safer roads, and support more efficient public service.
