Three high-value individuals were arrested after police seized more than P38 million worth of suspected illegal drugs in a buy-bust operation in the City of San Fernando, Pampanga early Tuesday.
The Philippine National Police (PNP) said the operation was conducted in Barangay Del Pilar by operatives of the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit (RPDEU) 3, in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Region 3 and local drug enforcement units.
Authorities arrested two men and one woman during the intelligence-driven operation.
Seized from the suspects were around four kilograms of suspected shabu with an estimated street value of P27.2 million and more than two kilograms of suspected cocaine hydrochloride valued at about P11.3 million.
Police also recovered marked buy-bust money, boodle money, cellular phones, identification cards, a digital weighing scale, packaging materials, other drug paraphernalia, and a motor vehicle allegedly used in the illegal drug transaction.
PNP Chief Police General Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. commended the operating units for the successful operation, saying the police force would continue going after individuals and groups involved in the illegal drug trade.
“We will continue to intensify our operations against those who persist in destroying lives through illegal drugs. The PNP remains steadfast—hindi kami titigil hangga’t may mga nagbabalak sirain ang kinabukasan ng ating kabataan at komunidad,” Nartatez said.
He said the operation also showed the discipline and commitment of police personnel in enforcing the law and protecting communities from the dangers of illegal drugs.
The suspects and the confiscated evidence were brought to the RPDEU 3 office at Camp Olivas in the City of San Fernando, Pampanga for documentation and proper disposition.
The PNP said it remains committed to strengthening anti-illegal drug operations nationwide under its campaign for fast, honest, and responsive police service.
