A 20-year-old man was arrested after authorities seized about P3.4 million worth of suspected shabu in a joint buy-bust operation in Dasmariñas City, Cavite on Friday afternoon.
The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) said the operation was carried out at around 3:15 pm on May 29 in Barangay Salitran III.
The suspect, identified only by the alias “Amer,” was arrested after allegedly selling illegal drugs to an undercover operative.
Authorities confiscated five knot-tied transparent plastic bags containing around 500 grams of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride, or shabu.
Also recovered during the operation were a brown paper bag, boodle money, an Android phone, a wallet, identification cards, an ATM card, cash transaction slip, receipts, a motorcycle with documents, a digital weighing scale, and other related items.
The operation was led by the PDEA Regional Office–National Capital Region Quezon City District Office, in coordination with the PDEA Cavite Provincial Office and the Philippine National Police Drug Enforcement Group Intelligence and Foreign Liaison Division.
The suspect will face charges for violation of Section 5, Article II of Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, which penalizes the sale of illegal drugs.
The seized drug evidence will be submitted to the PDEA Laboratory Service for forensic examination.
