The Philippine National Police (PNP) has deployed more than 89,000 personnel nationwide to secure activities for the 128th anniversary of the Proclamation of Philippine Independence on June 12.

The PNP said all units have been placed under full alert status from 5 pm on June 11 until 11:59 pm on June 12 to ensure continuous deployment, quick response capability, and sustained security coverage during the national observance.

A total of 89,473 personnel have been deployed across the country. This includes 77,020 PNP personnel, 1,975 personnel from other units, and 10,478 force multipliers.

Of the total deployment, around 16,000 personnel have been assigned to the National Capital Region to secure major convergence areas, critical installations, and key Independence Day venues.

Police personnel will be stationed at Rizal Park, historic monuments, government facilities, transport terminals, major roads, and other public gathering areas where large crowds are expected.

The PNP said security measures also include route security for official movements, augmentation at key venues, deployment at critical installations, and increased police visibility in major government sites.

Border control checkpoints and chokepoints have also been intensified to strengthen law enforcement presence and deterrence measures.

PNP Chief Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. said the police force is fully prepared to secure the national celebration and respond to any security concerns.

“We are fully prepared to secure this important national occasion. Our personnel are on the ground, alert, and ready to respond at any time. Tiyakin po natin na ang selebrasyon ng ating kalayaan ay magiging mapayapa at ligtas para sa lahat,” Nartatez said.

He said coordination with local government units, partner agencies, and force multipliers has been strengthened to ensure smooth security operations in all regions.

The PNP said the heightened security posture is part of its enhanced managing police operations for large-scale national events.

As the country marks Independence Day, the PNP said it remains committed to ensuring that Filipinos can commemorate the occasion safely and peacefully.
