The National Police Commission (NAPOLCOM) has commended members of the Philippine National Police Highway Patrol Group (PNP-HPG)-Special Operations Division (SOD) and several composite police teams for the successful arrest of suspects in a failed robbery attempt in Caloocan City.
The recognition was given during NAPOLCOM’s flag ceremony at its central office in Quezon City on May 25, following the May 6 operation along Mabini Street in Maypajo, Caloocan.
The operation was led by the HPG-SOD, with support from the HPG Intelligence Division, Regional Highway Patrol Unit-National Capital Region Intelligence Section, Police Regional Office 4A, Batangas Police Provincial Office, Northern Police District Police Sub-Station 1 Maypajo Police Station, and the Caloocan City Police Station Intelligence Division, in coordination with the Northern Police District.
According to NAPOLCOM, the operating teams carried out intelligence gathering, surveillance, monitoring, and operational support that helped ensure the safe and lawful implementation of the operation.
The commission said the police teams were cited for the arrest of the suspects, respect for constitutional rights, and proper documentation of the incident in line with established police operational procedures.
Among those recognized were Police Brigadier General Rommel Batangan, director of the HPG; Police Colonel Joel Jucutan, chief of HPG-SOD; Police Lieutenant Colonel Joseph Nandu Jr., assistant chief of SOD; Police Lieutenant Colonel Eric Reverente, chief of the SOD Intelligence Section; Police Colonel Jed Clamor and Police Lieutenant Colonel David Mondero of the HPG Intelligence Division; and Police Lieutenant Colonel Seth Mark Alob, team leader of the 1st Batangas Mobile Force Company of PRO 4A, and other officials who are part of the team.
The SOD Mobile Team, composed of Police Lieutenant Anthony Lacsamana, Police Staff Sergeants Jerry Saratobias and Reymondo Portes, and Patrolwoman Joy Flaviano, was also cited for carrying out the tactical interception.
NAPOLCOM Commissioner Rafael Vicente Calinisan praised the personnel for what he described as professionalism, discipline, and dedication to lawful police service.
Calinisan said recognizing police officers who perform their duties with integrity and competence is vital to boosting morale within the police organization and strengthening public trust in law enforcement.
“Sa panahon ngayon, mahalagang makita ng taumbayan na may mga pulis na handang magsakripisyo para protektahan ang buhay, kapayapaan, at seguridad ng ordinaryong Pilipino,” Calinisan said.
“We have your back. Ituloy n’yo lang ang inyong trabaho, the NAPOLCOM and the Chief, PNP have your back. Sa bawat pulis na tapat na gumaganap ng tungkulin, kasama ninyo kami sa pagsusulong ng isang kapulisang may integridad, malasakit, at tunay na naglilingkod sa bayan,” he added.
