President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and his Cabinet approved the proposed 2027 National Expenditure Program during a meeting in Malacañang on Friday.
The Department of Budget and Management presented the spending plan ahead of its formal submission to Congress.
“The Cabinet discussed and approved the 2027 national expenditure program as presented by the DBM. On the total amount and other details, we do not want to pre-empt the President’s budget submission to Congress,” Presidential Communications Office Acting Secretary Dave Gomez said in a message to reporters.
The DBM earlier indicated that the administration was seeking a ₱7.2-trillion national budget for 2027 under National Budget Memorandum No. 158 issued in June.
