Manila cemeteries suspend burials, restrict vehicles for Undas

Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko” Moreno Domagoso has announced cemetery schedules and safety reminders for Undas 2026, including a temporary ban on burials and vehicle entry at Manila North Cemetery and Manila South Cemetery.

During his livestreamed Talk to the People on Tuesday, Domagoso said the last day for burials at Manila North Cemetery would be October 28, based on the announcement displayed on screen.

Burial services at both cemeteries will resume on November 3, 2026.

Manila North Cemetery will be open from 5 a.m. to 8 p.m. from October 29 to November 2, Domagoso said.

Vehicles will not be allowed inside Manila North Cemetery from October 29 to November 2. However, the city has designated vehicles to transport visitors from the entrance to the graves of their departed loved ones.

“But do not worry, my mothers and fathers, my grandfathers and grandmothers, several vehicles that will take you to the graves of your loved ones from the gate have been designated,” Domagoso also said.

The mayor reminded visitors that karaoke machines, guitars, loud sound systems, and speakers are prohibited inside Manila North Cemetery.

Other prohibited items and activities include firearms, sharp objects, alcoholic drinks, pets, easily flammable substances such as alcohol and paint thinners, and gambling.

The Manila South Cemetery will implement similar restrictions, including a ban on vehicle entry from October 29 to November 2.

The city government urged cemetery visitors to follow the rules and schedules to help maintain safety, order, and solemnity during the observance of All Saints’ Day on November 1 and All Souls’ Day on November 2.
