The Philippine National Police–Highway Patrol Group (PNP-HPG) recovered five motor vehicles and impounded another in separate operations as part of its intensified campaign against carnapping and fraudulent motor vehicle transactions.

The operations were carried out by different Regional Highway Patrol Units (RHPUs), the PNP-HPG said.

Personnel of RHPU3 secured a Ford Territory in San Simon, Pampanga, with police assistance after it was reported as part of a Failed-to-Return scheme.

In Zambales, personnel of Provincial Highway Patrol Team (PHPT)-Zambales under RHPU3 located a Toyota Fortuner allegedly linked to a Talon Casa Scheme after it was flagged down during an anti-carnapping checkpoint in San Antonio.

Meanwhile, PHPT-Bulacan, also under RHPU3, facilitated the voluntary surrender of a Mitsubishi Xpander reportedly involved in a Failed-to-Return scheme.

In Batangas City, personnel of PHPT-Batangas under RHPU4A located a Honda Civic through intelligence-driven efforts after it was also reported as a Failed-to-Return.

Personnel of Pangasinan PHPT under RHPU1 also impounded a Mitsubishi Mirage Sedan during routine patrol and traffic enforcement in Rosario, La Union, after the driver failed to present the required registration documents.

PNP-HPG Director Police Brig. Gen. Rommel Batangan commended the operating personnel for their vigilance and professionalism, saying the unit remains committed to stopping fraudulent vehicle transactions and protecting legitimate vehicle owners.

“These accomplishments reflect the sustained commitment of the Highway Patrol Group to combat carnapping and illegal motor vehicle transactions. Through intelligence-driven efforts, intensified patrols, and close coordination with the public and partner agencies, we will continue to locate unlawfully possessed vehicles and ensure that those responsible are held accountable under the law.”
