The 11th Infantry “Alakdan” Division, Philippine Army, marked Father’s Day with an interfaith prayer service and its 2nd Quarterly Socials on June 19, 2026, at Kuta Heneral Teodulfo Bautista in Barangay Busbus, Jolo, Sulu.
With the theme “Fathers in Arms: Honoring the Protectors of Home and Nation,” the event recognized military fathers for their service both in uniform and within their families. Officers, enlisted personnel, civilian employees, and partner stakeholders took part in the day-long program of tribute and fellowship.

The program opened with an interfaith prayer, underscoring the division’s emphasis on unity and spiritual cohesion among troops. This was followed by wellness services for personnel, including haircuts, massages, and grooming services, provided as a gesture of appreciation for soldiers balancing operational duties and family responsibilities.
The celebration also served as the culminating activity for the division’s month-long sportsfest, where teams were recognized for performance and sportsmanship. Team Green was declared overall champion, followed by Team Red as first runner-up, Team Blue as second runner-up, and Team Yellow in third place.
Partner financial institutions were likewise acknowledged for their continued support to military personnel. Plaques of appreciation were awarded to the Air Materiel Wing Savings and Loan Association, Inc. (AMWSLAI), ACDI Multi-Purpose Cooperative (ACDI MPC), Armed Forces and Police Savings and Loan Association, Inc. (AFPSLAI), and the Philippine Army Finance Center Producers Integrated Cooperative (PAFCPIC).
Maj. Gen. Leonardo I. Peña, commander of the 11th Infantry Division and Joint Task Force Orion, said the activity highlights camaraderie, morale, and the shared commitment of soldiers who serve both their families and the nation.
The division said the event reflects its continuing effort to strengthen esprit de corps and recognize the contributions of fathers in uniform as part of broader morale and welfare initiatives.
