The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), through Field Office 8 in Eastern Visayas, has extended financial assistance and psychosocial support to families and survivors of the recent school shooting incident in Tacloban City.
A total of ₱100,000 in aid was initially provided to injured individuals, while three bereaved families received ₱10,000 each under the agency’s Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) program.
The agency also delivered psychosocial first aid to 35 students, two bereaved parents, and 11 parents of injured students as part of ongoing recovery and intervention efforts.
