Around 105 Filipino nationals in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) were successfully repatriated by the Philippine Country Team in Abu Dhabi of the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) as part of the government’s effort to extract Filipinos affected by the ongoing tensions in the Middle East.
The commercial flight carrying the ninth batch of repatriates from Abu Dhabi arrived in Manila last May 3, 2026. The repatriation efforts were conducted by the Philippine Embassy in Abu Dhabi, the Migrant Workers Office-Abu Dhabi, Office of the Philippine Defense and Armed Forces Attache (OPhil DAFA), and the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA).
Philippine Ambassador to the UAE Alfonso Ver said the latest batch of repatriates is composed of one visiting dependent of Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs), thirty-three dependents sponsored under the OFWs residence visa, and 71 OFWs.
“The Philippine Team in Abu Dhabi remains active in supporting individuals facing difficult circumstances, ensuring their safe and orderly return home,” Ver said. “This continued initiative underscores the sustained commitment to the welfare, safety, and protection of our kabayans abroad, reflecting coordinated efforts to provide timely assistance and uphold their well-being.”
