Police arrested Davao Region’s No. 1 Regional Most Wanted Person in a warrant operation in Davao City on Monday evening, July 6.
The Philippine National Police (PNP) said the 32-year-old male suspect was taken into custody along Cabaguio Avenue in Barangay Agdao Proper by a joint team from the Sta. Ana Police Station Tracker Team, the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group, and other police support units.
Authorities said the arrest was made based on a warrant for murder issued by a Regional Trial Court in Davao City. The court did not recommend bail.
Police said the suspect was informed of the charge against him and was apprised of his constitutional rights during the operation.
The PNP said the arrest forms part of its continuing Focused Agenda, particularly under Enhanced Managing Police Operations, as police units sustain intelligence-driven and lawful efforts to track down wanted persons and bring them before the courts.
The operation also supports the directive of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. to strengthen peace and order through professional and accountable law enforcement.
PNP Chief Police General Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. commended the operating units for the successful arrest, citing their coordination and dedication.
“Patuloy ang ating trabaho para matiyak na ang mga taong may kinakaharap na kaso ay maihaharap sa tamang proseso ng batas. Ang tagumpay na ito ay bunga ng dedikasyon at mahusay na koordinasyon ng ating mga pulis sa iba’t ibang yunit. Sa ating mga kababayan, makaaasa kayo na ipagpapatuloy ng inyong PNP ang propesyonal, tapat, at makataong pagpapatupad ng batas,” Nartatez said.
The arrested suspect is now under the custody of the Sta. Ana Police Station for appropriate judicial proceedings.
The PNP said it will continue to intensify operations against wanted persons across the country while ensuring that police actions uphold the rule of law, protect individual rights, and advance the vision of a “Bagong PNP para sa Bagong Pilipinas: Serbisyong Mabilis, Tapat, at Nararamdaman.”
