The Criminal Investigation and Detection Group arrested 1,066 individuals, recovered 165 loose firearms, and seized more than P605.8 million worth of criminal evidence during a nationwide crackdown in June 2026.
CIDG Director PMGen. Robert AA Morico II said the month-long campaign covered 935 intensified law enforcement operations targeting wanted fugitives, illegal firearms, economic saboteurs, counterfeit goods, environmental offenses, and other criminal activities.
The operations were aligned with the Philippine National Police chief Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr.’s focused program thrusts to strengthen community safety and national security.
Under Oplan Pagtugis and Oplan Salikop, CIDG operatives accounted for 606 wanted personalities. These included two National Most Wanted Persons with active rewards, 109 Regional Most Wanted Persons, 141 Provincial Most Wanted Persons, and 72 City or Municipal Most Wanted Persons.
The CIDG also said the operations led to the neutralization of one leader and three members of a Communist Terrorist Group.
Under Oplan Paglalansag Omega, authorities intensified operations against loose firearms in accordance with Republic Act No. 10591, or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.
The CIDG said its units served 49 search warrants and carried out 42 buy-bust operations, resulting in the confiscation of 156 small arms, nine light weapons, and 24 explosive devices.
Authorities said the recovery of the weapons helped prevent possible violent crimes by removing firearms and explosives from communities.
The CIDG also reported major gains under Oplan Olea, or Other Law Enforcement Activities, with P605,890,735.30 worth of evidence seized during operations against economic and environmental crimes.
The seized items included untaxed cigarettes, vapes, food seasoning, cooking oil, canned products, appliances, and defective e-bike batteries. Operatives also conducted operations against illegal logging, illegal gambling, and other offenses.
Morico commended CIDG personnel for their work and said the group’s efforts do not end with arrests and seizures.
“The CIDG’s focus goes beyond making arrests, accounting for unlicensed firearms and explosives, and confiscating illicit items; the Unit is dedicated to conducting circumspect detection, investigation, and case build-up to ensure the filing of airtight complaints that can stand a leg in court. We are working toward the certainty of conviction, with the end goal of helping all victims attain the justice they truly deserve.”PMGEN Morico II stated.
The CIDG assured the public that it remains committed to upholding the rule of law and securing peace across the country.
