Authorities dismantled a drug den and arrested five individuals during a joint search warrant operation conducted by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Regional Office 13 and allied law enforcement units on June 15, 2026 in Purok 8, Barangay J.P. Rizal, Butuan City.
Recovered from the site were around six grams of suspected shabu with an estimated standard value of ₱40,800, along with assorted drug paraphernalia and other non-drug evidence.
Among those arrested were a 21-year-old unemployed individual identified as the alleged maintainer of the drug den, a 55-year-old construction worker and employee of the establishment, and a 22-year-old unemployed visitor. Two 17-year-old minors, also present as visitors, were taken into custody and subsequently turned over for proper handling under existing child protection protocols.
Criminal complaints for violations of Sections 6, 7, 11, 12, and 15 of Article II of Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, are set to be filed against the suspects.
