The Bureau of Customs (BOC) has turned over Php30.78 million worth of ketamine to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) following the interception of a suspected drug shipment at the Port of Clark.
The substance, weighing 6,156 grams, was tested and confirmed to be ketamine.
The operation stemmed from an intelligence report received by the BOC from PDEA in the latter part of March 2026 regarding a shipment that may contain illegal drugs. The shipment was flagged and subjected to X-ray examination and a PDEA K-9 sniff test.
Authorities later discovered six transparent plastic pouches containing a white crystalline substance, concealed within a spool and wrapped with cable wires.
The PDEA-Airport Interdiction Unit and the Clark Inter-Agency Task Force Against Illegal Drugs immediately issued a Warrant of Seizure and Detention for violations of the Customs Modernization and Tariff Act and Republic Act No. 9165.
The turnover of the seized illegal drugs forms part of the government’s ongoing efforts to combat the cross-border smuggling of narcotics.
BOC Commissioner Ariel F. Nepomuceno said the interception and turnover of the seized contraband serve as proof of the collective efforts of different government agencies to support the agenda of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. to secure the country’s borders and protect communities from narcotics.
