Another body was recovered early Friday from the rubble of the collapsed nine-story condotel in Angeles City, Pampanga, raising the death toll from the tragedy to six, authorities said.
The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) Central Luzon said rescuers found the body at around 9 pm Thursday, prompting a difficult retrieval operation at the collapse site in Barangay Balibago.
“As of 12:40 am today, BFP Special Rescue Force successfully extricated one unidentified body, marking the 6th casualty for the 9-storey collapsed structure incident at Angeles City,” the BFP Central Luzon said in a social media post.
The latest recovery reduced the number of missing workers from 16 to 15, based on the tally reported as of Thursday.

“The Unified Command leaves no stone unturned as they continue with the Search, Rescue, Retrieval and clearing operation at the 9-storey collapsed building at Brgy. Balibago, Angeles City,” the BFP Central Luzon said.
