DICT Probes Gazette, PCO Website Outage

The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) has launched an investigation into the temporary outage that affected the websites of the Official Gazette and the Presidential Communications Office (PCO).

In a statement Wednesday, the DICT said its National Computer Emergency Response Team is working with the PCO to determine whether the disruption was caused by scheduled maintenance, configuration updates, administrative action, or possible external factors.

The agency said the websites became temporarily inaccessible at around 3 pm on May 19, prompting technical teams to assess the issue and begin restoration procedures.

“As of 12:28 AM today, May 20, 2026, continuous monitoring indicates that both the Official Gazette and the PCO website have been fully restored and are currently accessible to the public,” the DICT said.

The department noted, however, that users may still experience slower-than-usual page loading while system optimization continues.

The PCO earlier opened a mirror website to address slow page loading and provide the public with immediate access while technical work was ongoing.

The DICT said the probe will help identify the cause of the downtime and prevent a repeat of the incident.
