The Quezon City Police District arrested 29 wanted persons, including 19 most wanted persons, during simultaneous “Warrant Day” operations in Quezon City and nearby areas on May 15.
QCPD chief Brig. Gen. Randy Glenn Silvio said the arrests were part of the district’s continuing anti-criminality campaign.
Among those arrested was alias “Marcelito,” 25, who was tagged as the No. 1 regional-level most wanted person of the National Capital Region Police Office. He was arrested in Tondo, Manila based on warrants for murder and robbery issued by courts in Caloocan and Quezon City.
Police also arrested alias “Edgardo,” a district-level most wanted person wanted for frustrated homicide; alias “Jaymar,” who was wanted in connection with a drug-related case; and alias “Karl,” who is facing two counts of rape and three counts of sexual assault.
Authorities also served warrants against several other wanted persons facing cases involving large-scale illegal recruitment, robbery, firearms law violations and illegal drugs. These included three suspects arrested in Barangay Commonwealth for alleged violations of Republic Act 10591, or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.
A provincial-level most wanted person of the Cabanatuan police was also arrested in Quezon City for a pending drug case.
The QCPD said the courts that issued the warrants would be notified of the arrests for proper disposition of the cases.
“Ang tagumpay na ito ay malinaw na patunay na tuloy-tuloy, aktibo, at walang humpay ang anti-criminality operations ng Team Kyusi, na hindi lamang nagpapatupad ng batas kundi tunay na nagtataguyod ng kaayusan at kaligtasan ng publiko,” Silvio said.
